Where to Walk

  • Hampstead Heath – great for longer walks. Several ways to get there. It can be a long time to concentrate on loose lead walking though – we often drive. Walking through Holly Lodge Estate is nice.
  • Waterlow Park – nice for morning walks. Can have picnics in hot afternoons.
  • Dartmorth Park Hill Park – good for short walks trowing frizbee. Sometimes there are dogs on lead to be avoided and/or pinics. Crick’s Corner is nice and dog-friendly for coffee.
  • Whittington Park – in the back behind the soccer fields around 5:30/6 pm there are often freindly dogs to play with. Can do a longer loup through Foxen Gardens then Tuffnell Park Road to home.
  • Queen’s Park/Highgate Wood. Once a week or so I take the tube one stop up to walk in the woods. Don’t feel you need to. Might need treat to remind her of esculator and stay calm on tube. She jumps off the end of the esclator so be prepared.
  • Just walk around the streets. Sometimes this is a less ‘over stimulating’ activity and is better to calm her down at home.

If she gets muddy

  • Leave the harness on and get a handful of treats.
  • Take her upstais to the shower area.
  • Close the door.
  • Turn on the shower to barely on and the temperature to straight up/not not not cold.
  • Lure her in with treats with the shower on, on the floor. You might need to gently push.
  • She then generally stays there while you rince her off.
  • Dark blue towel on the rack is hers.
